Job Description

  • Maintain and continually improve the site's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with GMP, ISO, EXCiPACT, HACCP and other applicable requirements.
  • Review, maintain and improve quality system documentation, including procedures, specifications, records and quality-related documents.
  • Support internal, external, customer, supplier and certification audits, including audit preparation, response management, CAPA tracking and effectiveness verification.
  • Coordinate and support deviations, non-conformances, change controls, CAPA, complaints, returns, customer quality enquiries and quality risk assessments.
  • Monitor, analyse and report quality performance metrics, trends and recurring issues, and support implementation of corrective, preventive and improvement actions.
  • Support batch record review, product release activities and operational quality assurance processes in accordance with applicable quality requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining site food safety, GMP and quality compliance programmes through participation in inspections, monitoring activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support supplier quality activities, including supplier qualification, assessment, performance monitoring and supplier corrective action follow-up where applicable.
  • Participate in customer audits, customer quality requests, regulatory enquiries and compliance-related activities to support customer and business requirements.
  • Support management review activities through preparation, analysis and reporting of quality, compliance and operational performance data.
  • Provide guidance and awareness training on quality, GMP, food safety and compliance requirements to site personnel.
  • Promote a culture of quality ownership, customer focus, compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Support quality-related projects, initiatives and operational activities, and undertake other duties as assigned by the Technical Manager to support business and quality objectives.
  • To deputise for their line Manager in their absence for matters relating to QA.
  • To provide a QA service including validation to a site ensuring compliance to external standards is maintained.
  • To lead the validation activities required as part of a new or existing project where it has been identified that validation is required. The role holder will be required to plan up to 12 months forward.
  • To implement and maintain appropriate training regimes for new and existing QA staff to meet departmental objectives.
  • To supervise QA staff and ensure resources are in place to deliver appropriate support to the site. To manage staff to ensure effective performance, by providing appropriate development and training.
  • To assist with recruitment and selection of departmental staff.
  • To liaise with external stakeholders as required in activities such as regulatory inspections, customer audits and supplier audits.
  • Requires a persuasive, tenacious personality, who can transfer verbal discussion into written communication, through site procedures, ensuring the ensuing system is implemented and maintained to a high standard.
  • The role holder will be required to solve problems relating to quality systems and administration.

Requirement Degree in relevant scientific discipline or equivalence experience, Min.3-5 years of experience in QA, Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO standards (e.g ISO9001, ISO22000) and HACCP principle.
