Job description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Candidates with 1–2 years of procurement experience in the construction industry will be an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of Civil and MEP materials is preferred.
  • Good communication, negotiation, coordination, and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced construction environment.

To support the procurement of civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) materials, equipment, and subcontracted works for construction projects, ensuring timely delivery, competitive pricing, required quality, and compliance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Material Requisitions (MR) and procurement requests based on project requirements.
  • Source and obtain quotations from approved and potential suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Procure civil materials such as concrete, cement, steel reinforcement, blocks, tiles, waterproofing, paints, sanitary items, and other construction materials.
  • Procure MEP materials such as cables, cable trays, conduits, DBs, lighting fixtures, switches, sockets, pipes, valves, pumps, HVAC materials, fire-fighting materials, and related equipment.
  • Review quotations and prepare Technical & Commercial Comparison (TCC) for management approval.
  • Coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, MEP, QA/QC, Planning, and Site Engineers to confirm technical requirements and quantities.
  • Request and follow up on material submittals, technical datasheets, samples, compliance certificates, and test certificates.
  • Coordinate with consultants and project teams when technical clarification or material approval is required.
  • Negotiate with suppliers regarding price, delivery, payment terms, warranty, and lead time.
  • Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and subcontractor agreements after receiving the required approvals.
  • Monitor supplier production and delivery schedules and ensure materials arrive on site according to the project program.
  • Follow up on delayed materials and immediately report potential procurement risks that may affect project progress.
  • Coordinate with the store/site team regarding material delivery, inspection, and quantity verification.
  • Maintain procurement records, including RFQs, quotations, comparison sheets, POs, delivery notes, invoices, and supplier documents.
  • Maintain an updated Procurement Log / Material Tracking Schedule.
  • Assist in identifying long-lead items and ensure early procurement to avoid delays.
  • Support the Procurement Manager/Project Manager in cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts Department regarding supplier invoices, payment certificates, and outstanding payments.
  • Evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, price, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures, project specifications, approved budgets, and construction schedules.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
