Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Resident Engineer - Enabling Works to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will serve as the on-site engineering representative responsible for overseeing and coordinating all enabling works activities. You will ensure that preliminary construction phases, site preparation, and temporary works are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project specifications and local regulations. This position requires a professional who can manage multiple stakeholders, maintain meticulous documentation, and make analytical decisions to keep projects on schedule and within quality standards.

Supervise and coordinate all enabling works activities, including site preparation, temporary structures, and utility installations

Inspect and verify that all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards

Prepare and maintain comprehensive site reports, daily logs, and technical documentation

Coordinate with multiple trades and contractors to ensure efficient workflow and minimize delays

Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential safety hazards or compliance issues

Analyze construction methodologies and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost-effectiveness

Manage communication between the project team, contractors, and stakeholders

Monitor and track project progress against timelines and budgets

Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols and local regulations

Resolve on-site technical issues and implement corrective actions promptly

Maintain organized records of all site activities, materials, and equipment

Participate in project meetings and provide technical input on enabling works progress

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred

Minimum of 20 years of experience in building engineering, with a focus on managing large-scale projects

Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and construction documents

Experience with enabling works, site preparation, and temporary works execution

Solid understanding of construction methodologies and best practices

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Experience working on projects in the Middle East region
