Job description
The Technology Strategist will play a pivotal role in shaping NCS's technology vision and driving strategic initiatives that align with business objectives. This role requires a forward-thinking professional who can bridge the gap between emerging technologies and business value, enabling NCS and our clients to navigate digital transformation, AI adoption, and technological innovation in a rapidly evolving landscape.
A unique aspect of this role is the need for "bilingual" expertise—candidates who have successfully built and delivered both AI products and AI-enabled services. This dual perspective is critical as NCS evolves from a people-intensive services company toward strengthening its product offerings. The ideal candidate will bring insights from both product-centric environments (such as Big Tech firms) and service-delivery models (such as global system integrators and consulting companies), enabling them to guide NCS's strategic transformation effectively.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and clients to develop technology roadmaps, assess market trends, evaluate emerging technologies, and provide strategic recommendations that drive competitive advantage and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Product-to-Service Translation & Innovation
-
Leverage product and service delivery experience to guide NCS's evolution from a services-led to a product-enhanced organization
-
Translate product development methodologies and best practices from Big Tech environments into scalable service offerings
-
Advise on building productized AI solutions that can be deployed across multiple clients while maintaining service customization capabilities
-
Bridge the gap between rapid product innovation cycles and enterprise-grade service delivery requirements
-
Identify opportunities to package NCS's AI and digital capabilities into reusable, scalable product offerings
AI & Digital Resilience Strategy
-
Lead strategic initiatives around AI adoption and digital resilience, leveraging frameworks such as the 'AI-Digital Resilience Matrix' to assess and enhance organizational capabilities
-
Draw on experience building AI products to inform the development of NCS's AI service offerings and productized solutions
-
Provide guidance on balancing AI innovation with robust digital frameworks, including cybersecurity, data governance, infrastructure scalability, and ethical AI practices
-
Apply product thinking to service design, ensuring AI solutions are scalable, maintainable, and deliver measurable business outcomes
-
Evaluate AI systems against evolving regulations, emerging threat vectors, and transparency requirements
-
Advise on sovereign AI strategies, particularly for government and regulated sectors, ensuring compliance with frameworks like PSPF, ISM, and SOCI
Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience with demonstrated "bilingual" expertise across both AI product development and AI service delivery:
Product Experience
-
Proven track record of building, launching, and scaling AI products in Big Tech firms, product companies, or innovation-led organizations
-
Experience with product lifecycle management from ideation through to market delivery
-
Hands-on involvement in AI/ML product development, including defining product vision, roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies
-
Understanding of product metrics, user experience design, and rapid iteration methodologies
Service Delivery Experience
-
Substantial experience delivering AI-enabled services, digital transformation programs, or technology consulting in global system integrators (GSI) or management consulting firms
-
Track record of implementing enterprise-scale AI solutions for clients across multiple industries
-
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder service delivery programs
-
Understanding of service economics, resource management, and client relationship dynamics
Ideal Background:
-
Candidates who have worked in both Big Tech firms (e.g., Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Apple) AND global SI/consulting companies (e.g., Accenture, Deloitte, PwC, Capgemini, IBM) are highly preferred *TA will have to review and refine this point for publishing
-
This combination provides the unique "bilingual" perspective needed to help NCS strengthen its product offerings while maintaining excellence in service delivery
-
Experience transitioning between product and service roles, or working in hybrid product-service organizations, is particularly valuable
Additional Experience Requirements:
-
Experience working with government, telco, or large enterprise clients preferred
-
Demonstrated experience in AI/ML, cloud technologies, digital services, or emerging technology domains
-
Experience in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly Singapore, Australia, or Greater China markets is advantageous
-
Track record of advising C-suite executives on technology strategy and digital transformation
Skills & Competencies
Product-Service Duality:
-
Ability to think in both product and service paradigms, understanding when to apply product thinking versus service customization
-
Experience balancing standardization (product approach) with customization (service approach)
-
Understanding of how to build reusable components and platforms that support both product and service delivery models
Strategic Thinking:
-
Ability to think holistically, connect technology trends to business outcomes, and develop actionable strategies
-
Capability to translate product innovation approaches into service delivery contexts and vice versa
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
-
Strong capability to analyze complex data, identify patterns, and derive insights
-
Experience with both product analytics (user metrics, adoption, retention) and service metrics (utilization, delivery efficiency, client satisfaction)
Communication & Presentation:
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to create compelling presentations and reports for diverse audiences
-
Ability to communicate effectively with both product teams and service delivery teams, bridging different organizational cultures
Stakeholder Management:
-

-

Agility & Adaptability:
-
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
-
Ability to adapt approaches based on whether the context requires product velocity or service reliability
Initiative & Ownership:
-
Positive attitude with willingness to learn, take initiative, and drive results independently
-
Entrepreneurial mindset combined with enterprise delivery discipline
Collaboration:
-
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work across functions and geographies
-
Experience collaborating across product and service organizations, understanding different working styles and priorities
