Job description
We are seeking an experienced HSSE Engineer with strong experience in Oil & Gas pipeline/piping projects to ensure the highest standards of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental performance across pipeline construction and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSSE policies, procedures, and site safety plans.
- Conduct Risk Assessments, JSA/JHA, HAZID/HAZOP, inspections, and safety audits.
- Ensure safe execution of pipeline activities including trenching, excavation, welding, lowering-in, stringing, lifting, hydrotesting, tie-ins, and reinstatement.
- Monitor Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO, confined space, hot work, working at height, lifting, and excavation activities.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety inductions, inspections, and HSSE awareness programs.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, unsafe acts/conditions, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Oil & Gas standards, HSE regulations, client requirements, and company procedures.
- Monitor environmental controls including waste management, spill prevention, dust/noise control, and protection of land and water resources.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor HSSE performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSSE reports, statistics, and KPI reports.
- Support emergency response planning, drills, and site emergency preparedness.
- Promote a strong safety culture and zero-incident approach across pipeline project activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Engineering, HSE, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of HSSE experience, with relevant experience in Oil & Gas pipeline/piping projects.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE qualification is preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA, API, ASME, and relevant Oil & Gas standards is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline construction safety and high-risk activities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in challenging field/site environments.
Preferred Pipeline Experience
Experience in cross-country pipelines, transmission pipelines, gas/oil pipelines, pipeline/piping construction, hydrotesting, ROW activities, HDD, road/river crossings, tie-ins, or pipeline commissioning will be highly advantageous
