QA/QC Welding Inspector (Oil & Gas-MECHANICAL ENGINEER)

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR QA/QC WELDING INSPECTOR

• Pre-Welding Verification: Inspect joint preparation, bevel angles, fit-up alignment, root gaps, and material cleanliness against the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).
• Visual & Dimensional Inspection: Conduct visual quality checks on completed welds to identify defects such as undercuts, porosity, cracks, or excess reinforcement, and measure fillet leg/throat sizes.
• Welder & Material Traceability: Check welder qualifications (ID, continuity logs) before work begins. Validate Material Test Reports (MTRs), heat numbers, and perform Positive Material Identification (PMI) checks on base metals and filler wires.
• Certifications (Mandatory): CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 (Certified Scheme for Welding Inspection Personnel).
• NDT & PWHT Oversight: Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures—such as Radiographic (RT), Ultrasonic (UT/PAUT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Liquid Penetrant (PT) testing. Monitor Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) soak cycles and review temperature charts.
• Deep working knowledge of API 1104, ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII/IX, and AWS D1.1.
• Mechanical Engineering Degree with 5+ years of quality control experience in oil and gas, pipeline.

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
