Pipeline Estimator/ Pipeline Estimation Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Pipeline Estimator / Pipeline Estimation Engineer with strong experience in Oil & Gas pipeline projects to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for pipeline construction and related works.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, quantity take-offs, and tender pricing for Oil & Gas pipeline projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, scope of work, and tender documents to identify project requirements.
• Estimate costs for pipeline materials, welding, trenching, excavation, stringing, lowering-in, backfilling, hydrotesting, tie-ins, crossings, reinstatement, and commissioning.
• Prepare material, manpower, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop rate analysis, unit rates, productivity rates, and cost breakdowns.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and potential cost impacts.
• Prepare commercial and technical queries during the tendering process.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commercial teams to ensure accurate estimates.
• Participate in tender clarification meetings and negotiations with clients and subcontractors when required.
• Maintain an updated database of material prices, labor rates, equipment costs, and subcontractor rates.
• Support preparation of cash-flow forecasts, cost plans, and tender comparison statements.
• Ensure estimates are prepared within required deadlines and in accordance with company and client requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Pipeline Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in estimation/costing, preferably within Oil & Gas pipeline projects.
• Strong knowledge of pipeline construction methods, BOQ preparation, quantity surveying, and cost estimation.
• Experience with cross-country pipelines, transmission pipelines, gas/oil pipelines, HDD, road/river crossings, tie-ins, hydrotesting, and pipeline facilities is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant estimating/cost-control software.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs, isometrics, and tender documents.
• Strong analytical, numerical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently under tight tender deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in EPC/EPCM projects, pipeline construction tenders, FEED/EPC estimation, subcontractor evaluation, and major Oil & Gas clients will be highly advantageous.
