Payments Manager

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading company based in Abu Dhabi, for an experienced Payments Manager to lead its payments strategy, financial products and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the payments roadmap across in-store, digital and B2B channels.
• Improve payment conversion, reliability, security and overall customer experience.
• Lead the development of new payment capabilities, including tokenisation, instalments, pay-by-link and digital wallets.
• Evaluate emerging payment methods such as Aani, cryptocurrencies and stablecoins.
• Own the end-to-end development and P&L performance of financial products, including co-branded cards, remittances and open-loop wallets.
• Manage relationships and commercial agreements with banks, payment schemes, acquirers and service providers.
• Optimise payment fees, incentives, authorisation rates, chargebacks and operational performance.
• Identify new revenue opportunities across payments and embedded financial services.
• Lead cross-functional delivery with Digital, IT, Finance, Retail, Risk, Compliance and Customer Experience teams.
• Provide senior leadership with clear performance updates, commercial analysis and recommendations.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in payments, banking, fintech, retail or digital commerce.
• Proven experience managing payment products, co-branded cards or digital wallets.
• Strong knowledge of payment schemes, acquiring, issuing and digital payment infrastructure.
• Experience owning product P&L and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Excellent commercial, analytical, stakeholder-management and delivery skills.
• Good understanding of payment security, regulatory compliance and emerging payment technologies.
• Please note that this role is based in Abu Dhabi, so we are looking for someone who is either currently based there or comfortable commuting daily.
