Role Purpose

The Lead Solution Architect - Network owns the network architecture across the airport campus - LAN, WAN, wireless, data center, and connectivity to operational technology, systems and stakeholders.

The role leads network design and standards, ensuring highly available, secure, high-performance connectivity that underpins safety- and security-critical airport operations 24/7.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture

  • Own the network architecture - campus LAN, WAN, wireless, data center and segmentation.
  • Design for high availability, redundancy, performance and scalability across the airport estate.
  • Define network standards, topology and connectivity to systems, OT and external parties.

Security & Operations

  • Embed network security (segmentation, zero-trust principles, secure connectivity) into designs.
  • Ensure resilience, monitoring and manageability for 24/7 operations.
  • Support integration with cyber, infrastructure and OT domains.

Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead and mentor network architects/engineers; govern network design quality.
  • Support estimation, planning and risk for the network domain.
  • Engage stakeholders, vendors and operations teams.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Network architecture: Extensive experience in enterprise/campus network architecture on large, complex programs.
  • Technologies: Deep knowledge of LAN/WAN/wireless, data center networking, SD-WAN and segmentation.
  • Availability & performance: Designing highly available, high-performance, resilient networks.
  • Security: Strong grasp of network security and secure connectivity.
  • Leadership & communication: Ability to lead a team and engage stakeholders/vendors.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of airport campus networks and OT/industrial connectivity.
  • Network certifications (e.g. CCIE/CCNP, cloud networking).
  • Experience in critical-infrastructure or 24/7 environments.
  • Exposure to MSI operating models.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Network and/or cloud networking certifications strongly preferred.
