Job description

The Veterinary In-House Laboratory Technician supports clinical and diagnostic services by performing routine laboratory tests and maintaining daily laboratory operations within a veterinary setting. The role ensures accurate results, compliance with safety standards, and efficient lab workflow for the specialist hospital.

Job Description:

  • Perform routine laboratory tests (e.g. haematology, biochemistry, microbiology sample processing) in accordance with laboratory SOPs.

  • Prepare, process, and record laboratory samples and results accurately.

  • Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including equipment calibration, quality control, and general laboratory upkeep.

  • Maintain laboratory inventory and assist with procurement of reagents and consumables.

  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, regulations, and quality standards.

  • Support quality assurance activities.

  • Manage the in-house blood refrigerator and component freezer, maintaining stock of these products.

  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians and clinical staff to support diagnostic needs.
