Laboratory Technician (Savory), Singapore As a Laboratory Technician supporting snacks and culinary category application, you will provide hands-on assistance to Application Technologists in prototype development and project tasks including formula compounding. You will manage laboratory inventory including raw materials, flavors and consumables, ensuring proper storage, timely replenishment and safe disposal. You will also support customer and country-specific samples preparation and process flavor requests from Sample Order Management Team (SOM). Additionally, you will maintain the seasoning and flavor library, uphold lab cleanliness and equipment safety and support QC testing and documentation.

The Position:

  • Support Application Technologists in prototype development and project activities including formula compounding, sample preparation and other assigned tasks
  • Maintain and upkeep inventory level of laboratory flavor and raw materials to ensure proper stock rotation, timely reordering and removal of expired items.
  • Organize and manage the seasoning and flavor library, food service (FS) library and Tool Kit to ensure proper upkeep and accessibility
  • Ensure consistent supply and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) and laboratory consumables
  • Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the laboratory to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
  • Conduct shelf-life and stability tests on samples to support development and quality assurance
  • Coordinate the safe disposal of chemical waste and glass bottles in compliance with safety guidelines
  • Assist with packing, shipping, dispatch and documentation of trial samples to ensure accurate and timely delivery
  • Prepare applications for QC testing, sampling and evaluation processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and proper documentation for raw materials and finished products
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and only safe, intact equipment is used in lab operations

The Ideal Candidate:

  • ITE/Dipoma in Food Technology, Food Science or related field
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
  • Does not have allergies, specifically to powders and physically able to comfortably lift loads up to 5kg.
  • Knowledge of flavor industry is an added advantage
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural, cross functional environment
  • A team player with a positive and professional attitude who is detailed-oriented and proactive.
