Job description

Job Responsibilities

Chemical Analysis & Monitoring:

  • Perform routine analysis of all pretreatment/post-treatment and plating chemicals and Ni/Au solutions at scheduled frequencies and update results in the system.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory testing equipment and instruments.
  • Develop and implement new testing methods or process improvements.
  • Follow laboratory safety procedures and ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.

Production Support:

  • Liaise with the production team to fulfill chemical, solution, or analytical requests promptly.
  • Monitor and control plating process parameters to ensure consistent coating quality.
  • Investigate plating defects (e.g., peeling, pitting, discoloration, burning) and recommend corrective actions.
  • Train production personnel on chemical handling, testing procedures, and quality requirements.

Data Management:

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports, and process documentation.
  • Update daily analytical results in the Production Control Database (PCDB) system.
  • Maintain precise records of Gold (Au) movement within the designated system.

Au/chemical Ordering & Supply Chain:

  • Calculate and place orders for Au salt and Au solution-related items, following discussions with the Plating Engineer and Plating Manager.
  • Ordering of Lab Chemicals and spare parts for analytical equipment.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on chemical performance and technical issues. Manage chemical inventory, laboratory consumables, and safety data sheets (SDS).

Au Recovery:

  • Perform Au recovery processes and liaise with external Recycling Service Providers for material disposal/processing.

Stock Take:

  • Perform Gold Factor analysis by weight, stripping, weight Methode.
  • Prepare and execute monthly Au stock take activities together with Senior Engineer.

Audit Compliance:

  • Prepare and present necessary documentation and samples for ISO/IATF internal and external auditors.

EHS Compliance:

  • Maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards within the laboratory area, including proper waste segregation.

Process Improvement:

  • Suggest alternative chemicals to production to enhance quality or efficiency.

Technical Troubleshooting:

  • Advise on technical solutions relating to chemical properties and plating processes to the production.

Shift Work

  • Ability to work night shifts as required by production schedules.

Performs other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of laboratory or electroplating experience.
  • Candidates without experience are welcome to apply for entry level role.
  • Knowledge of electroplating processes
  • Understanding of analytical chemistry and laboratory testing techniques.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems
  • Experience using laboratory instruments such as pH meters, titration equipment, spectrophotometers, ICP.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per month

Work Location: In person
