Job description

The Fabricator is responsible for fabrication, assembly, installation, modification, and repair of metal, aluminum, and glass components according to approved drawings, measurements, specifications, and site requirements. The role requires practical experience in workshop and site fabrication with strong knowledge of aluminum profiles, metal structures, glazing systems, and finishing works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, shop drawings, sketches, measurements, and technical specifications.
  • Carry out fabrication and installation of aluminum doors, windows, partitions, frames, shopfronts, curtain walls, and related systems.
  • Fabricate and install metal frames, brackets, supports, handrails, gates, structural components, and customized metal works.
  • Handle and install different types of glass including tempered glass, laminated glass, insulated glass, and standard architectural glass.
  • Measure, mark, cut, drill, grind, bend, shape, and assemble aluminum and metal components accurately.
  • Cut and prepare aluminum profiles according to required dimensions and fabrication schedules.
  • Carry out glass measurements, fitting, alignment, fixing, sealing, and finishing.
  • Install glass using suitable accessories, channels, clamps, gaskets, silicone, sealants, and fixing systems.
  • Perform accurate fitting and alignment of aluminum frames and glass panels.
  • Carry out assembly of doors, windows, hinges, handles, locks, rollers, accessories, and hardware.
  • Use fabrication machinery and tools such as cutting machines, drilling machines, grinders, welding machines, aluminum cutting saws, and hand tools.
  • Perform basic welding, tack welding, and metal fitting where required.
  • Ensure fabricated items meet required dimensions, levels, alignment, squareness, and finishing standards.
  • Carry out modification and repair of existing aluminum, metal, and glass installations.
  • Conduct site measurements before fabrication and verify dimensions prior to production.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, installers, welders, helpers, and other trades during fabrication and installation.
  • Identify fabrication or installation issues and report discrepancies before proceeding with work.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of aluminum profiles, metal materials, glass panels, and accessories to prevent damage.
  • Minimize material wastage and optimize the use of aluminum, metal, glass, and consumables.
  • Maintain high-quality finishing, including grinding, polishing, sealing, silicone application, and final cleaning.
  • Follow approved safety procedures when handling glass, sharp materials, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Use appropriate PPE at all times and maintain a clean and safe workshop/site environment.
  • Complete assigned fabrication and installation works within the required project schedule.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in metal, aluminum, and glass fabrication.
  • Proven experience in aluminum doors, windows, partitions, shopfronts, curtain walls, and glazing works.
  • Experience in metal fabrication, cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, and assembly.
  • Good knowledge of different aluminum profiles, sections, fittings, and accessories.
  • Practical knowledge of glass installation methods and glazing accessories.
  • Ability to take accurate site measurements and work independently from drawings.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as measuring tape, spirit level, square, vernier, and other fabrication instruments.
  • Familiarity with welding and metal fabrication will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of silicone, sealants, gaskets, rubber profiles, and glass fixing systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot alignment, fitting, and installation problems.
  • Good attention to detail and finishing quality.
  • Ability to work in workshop and site environments.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling fabrication materials and equipment safely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITI / Technical Certificate in Fabrication, Welding, Aluminum Works, or a related trade is preferred.
  • Previous GCC/UAE experience in aluminum, glass, and metal fabrication is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of architectural aluminum and glazing systems is preferred.

Pay: AED724.06 - AED5,481.54 per month
