Job Summary

The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating construction activities at the project site, ensuring that works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, quality standards, and project schedules. The position requires close coordination with subcontractors, consultants, QA/QC, safety, and other engineering teams to ensure smooth and timely completion of works.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor daily construction activities at the assigned site.
• Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
• Review construction drawings and coordinate with the engineering team to resolve technical issues and discrepancies.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other project disciplines to ensure proper execution of works.
• Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and resources required for site activities.
• Ensure works are completed according to the approved project schedule and planned targets.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor progress against planned activities.
• Coordinate with QA/QC personnel to ensure works comply with project quality requirements.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing method statements, inspection requests, material submissions, and other technical documents.
• Identify site problems, technical issues, and potential delays and report them to the Construction Manager or Project Manager.
• Coordinate with surveyors to ensure correct setting-out, levels, dimensions, and alignment of works.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare daily site reports, progress updates, and other required site documentation.
• Attend coordination meetings and provide updates regarding site progress, technical issues, and required actions.
• Ensure proper coordination between architectural, structural, MEP, and other disciplines where applicable.
• Monitor the use and installation of approved materials and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Ensure site activities are carried out safely and coordinate with the HSE team regarding site safety requirements.
• Assist in preparing as-built information and documentation upon completion of works.
• Support testing, inspection, commissioning, and handover activities as required.
• Perform other duties related to site engineering and construction activities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, depending on the assigned scope.
• Relevant engineering experience in building construction projects.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, drawings, specifications, and site procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
• Good knowledge of MS Office and relevant engineering/construction software.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant technical software is an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively with subcontractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant site experience in building construction.
• Experience in high-rise building or major construction projects is preferred.
• UAE/GCC construction experience is an advantage.
