Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer – Civil with proven hands-on experience in the construction of warehouses, logistics facilities, industrial buildings, factories or similar large-scale industrial projects.
Candidates without relevant warehouse / industrial building construction experience will not be considered for this position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination and execution of assigned project activities from site mobilisation through construction, testing, completion and handover.
The role requires strong site execution capability and the ability to independently coordinate with the Project Manager, Consultant, Client, Site Team, subcontractors, suppliers and Head Office departments to achieve project milestones within the required programme, quality and HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the day-to-day execution of warehouse and industrial construction works at the assigned project.
- Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project requirements and applicable authority requirements.
- Plan daily, weekly and short-term construction activities in coordination with the Project Manager and Planning Team.
- Monitor actual progress against the approved project programme and identify delays, constraints and potential risks at an early stage.
- Prepare recovery actions and coordinate additional manpower, equipment, materials or subcontractor resources where required to achieve planned targets.
- Coordinate and supervise Site Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen, Chargehands, subcontractors and workforce for effective execution of site activities.
- Ensure proper manpower and activity allocation based on the approved construction programme.
- Coordinate civil and structural works associated with warehouse and industrial developments, including foundations, concrete works, structural interfaces, flooring, external works and building finishes.
- Coordinate closely with structural steel, roofing, cladding, MEP, fire protection and other specialist contractors to ensure proper interface between all disciplines.
- Ensure openings, sleeves, embedded items, equipment foundations, service requirements and other civil/MEP interfaces are properly coordinated before execution.
- Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications and other construction documents before commencement of work.
- Identify drawing discrepancies, missing information, constructability issues and coordination conflicts and raise the necessary RFIs / technical queries.
- Coordinate preparation and follow-up of RFIs, material submittals, shop drawings, method statements and other technical submissions.
- Coordinate with the Consultant and Client representatives regarding inspections, technical clarifications, approvals and site requirements.
- Ensure required inspection requests are raised on time and that works are fully ready before Consultant inspections.
- Follow up Consultant comments and ensure timely closure of observations, snags and rejected inspections.
- Coordinate with QA/QC personnel to ensure works comply with approved quality requirements.
- Coordinate with the HSE Team to ensure construction activities are executed safely and in accordance with Company and project requirements.
- Monitor subcontractor productivity, manpower, quality, progress and compliance with the approved scope of work.
- Identify underperforming subcontractors or activities and immediately escalate concerns to the Project Manager.
- Coordinate procurement requirements and ensure materials, equipment and resources are available in line with the construction schedule.
- Follow up with Procurement, Stores and concerned departments regarding critical or long-lead materials.
- Monitor material utilization at site and take necessary measures to control wastage and improper usage.
- Coordinate concrete requirements, equipment, cranes, access equipment and other construction resources based on planned activities.
- Coordinate warehouse-specific construction interfaces such as loading areas, docks, ramps, industrial flooring, external hardscape and service areas as applicable to the project.
- Coordinate with specialist contractors for industrial building systems and ensure their activities are properly integrated with the overall construction programme.
- Maintain awareness of fire and life-safety requirements applicable to industrial and warehouse facilities and coordinate associated civil interfaces with the concerned specialist teams.
- Prepare and provide accurate information for daily, weekly and monthly project progress reports.
- Coordinate with the Document Controller for timely submission of reports, correspondence and project documentation to the Consultant and Client.
- Ensure site activities, manpower deployment and relevant project information are properly updated in the Company ERP system.
- Coordinate with Timekeeping regarding manpower attendance and activity allocation in ERP.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, manpower, equipment, material usage, progress, delays and significant project events.
- Attend progress meetings, technical meetings, coordination meetings and internal project meetings.
- Prepare required information and ensure timely closure of actions assigned during meetings.
- Coordinate regularly with Head Office departments including Planning, Procurement, Commercial, Cost Control, QA/QC, HSE, HR/Admin and other support functions.
- Immediately highlight potential variations, additional works or changes in scope to the Project Manager and Commercial Team before proceeding wherever applicable.
- Ensure approved instructions and variations are properly communicated to the concerned site team.
- Maintain proper coordination for site access, gate passes, permits and mobilisation requirements.
- Monitor site housekeeping, logistics, material storage and movement to ensure efficient site operations.
- Proactively identify technical, operational and coordination issues and develop practical solutions to avoid impact on project progress.
- Support the Project Manager in achieving contractual milestones and overall project completion targets.
- Coordinate snagging, de-snagging, testing, authority inspections, completion and project handover activities.
- Coordinate preparation and completion of as-built information, close-out documentation and handover requirements with the relevant teams.
- Ensure assigned works are completed within the required time, quality, cost and safety parameters.
- Perform any other project-related responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager or Management.
Mandatory Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant construction experience in a Project Engineer / Site Engineering capacity.
- Proven experience in the construction of warehouses, logistics facilities, industrial buildings, factories or similar industrial developments is MANDATORY.
- Candidates whose experience is predominantly in residential villas, apartments or general building maintenance without warehouse/industrial construction exposure will not be considered.
- Candidate must have hands-on experience managing site execution rather than only planning, estimation, design or office-based engineering.
- UAE construction experience is strongly preferred.
- Main Contractor experience will be highly preferred.

- UAE Driving Licence will be an advantage.
- Candidates currently available in the UAE will be preferred.

Important
Warehouse / industrial construction experience is a mandatory requirement for this position. Candidates without relevant experience will not be shortlisted.

Pay: AED12,000.00 - AED14,000.00 per month
