Senior Interior Designer

About the Role

UMQ Co. is looking for a highly creative and experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our growing team in Jeddah. This role is ideal for a design professional with a strong background in commercial interior design and fit-out projects, capable of leading projects from concept development through construction documentation and execution.

The successful candidate will combine creativity with technical expertise, ensuring exceptional design quality while delivering projects that meet client expectations, project budgets, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full interior design process from concept design to project completion.
• Develop innovative and functional design concepts aligned with client requirements, brand identity, and project objectives.
• Prepare detailed space planning, layouts, mood boards, design presentations, and material palettes.
• Produce comprehensive technical and construction documentation, including detailed drawings, specifications, and joinery details.
• Develop and coordinate FF&E packages, material schedules, finishes, and furniture specifications.
• Review shop drawings and material submittals to ensure compliance with design intent.
• Coordinate closely with architects, MEP consultants, structural engineers, contractors, and project managers throughout all project phases.
• Conduct site visits to monitor design implementation and resolve technical issues during construction.
• Participate in client meetings, design workshops, and presentations while providing professional design recommendations.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and fit-out best practices.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality design deliverables within established budgets and schedules.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to maintaining high design standards across the team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• +8years of professional experience in interior design, preferably within commercial, hospitality, workplace, or fit-out projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, technical detailing, and completed project execution.
• Advanced knowledge of space planning, design development, detailing, and construction documentation.
• Strong understanding of interior materials, finishes, furniture systems, joinery detailing, and FF&E specifications.
• Excellent knowledge of local construction practices and fit-out execution processes.
• Proficiency in:
• AutoCAD
• SketchUp
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
• Microsoft Office
• Experience with Revit and 3D visualization software (3ds Max, Enscape, Lumion, or V-Ray) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of building codes, accessibility standards, and construction coordination.
• Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
