MEP Design Lead Mechanical ( Airport Exp )

We are seeking an experienced MEP Design Lead Mechanical to join our dynamic engineering team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In this leadership role, you will oversee the mechanical design aspects of airport infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and Saudi Building Code requirements. You will lead a team of mechanical engineers and designers, driving innovation and excellence in MEP system design while managing complex coordination across multiple disciplines.

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and design professionals on airport and aviation facility projects

• Develop comprehensive mechanical design solutions for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related systems in airport environments

• Manage the mechanical design phase from concept through construction documentation

• Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless system integration and clash-free designs

• Utilize BIM and advanced design software to create detailed mechanical models and construction documents

• Ensure all designs comply with Saudi Building Code, international standards, and airport-specific requirements

• Conduct design reviews and quality assurance checks to maintain high standards of accuracy and completeness

• Prepare technical specifications, calculations, and design reports for airport projects

• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to address design challenges and implement solutions

• Monitor project timelines and budgets while maintaining design excellence

• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in MEP design

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in MEP mechanical design

• Minimum 4 years of direct experience on airport, aviation, or large-scale infrastructure projects

• Advanced proficiency in MEP design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design tools

• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation

• Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary projects

• Strong understanding of Saudi Building Code and international design standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.)

• Expertise in BIM modeling and coordination

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders

• Experience with design coordination software and clash detection tools

• Project management experience and organizational skills

• Familiarity with airport-specific mechanical requirements and operational constraints

• Professional certification in mechanical engineering or related field (preferred)
