Job Purpose

As the Executive Creative Director, you will serve as the creative department lead, heading the ideation, presentation, and overall creative management of GPJ engagements, presentations, and pitches. In close coordination with the Senior Vice President, you will define and drive the strategic direction of the region’s creative output and be accountable for GPJ’s creative reputation. You will provide leadership and direction across multiple accounts and projects, placing a great emphasis on conceptual work and the customer journey, ensuring our client’s brand are able to differentiate in the market place.. In this role, you will lead the conception and execution of highly effective creative experiences across in person, digital and the broader marketing mix. You will coach, mentor, and inspire a high-performing creative team, ensuring that all proposals and subsequent executions are delivered to the highest standards, on time, and in alignment with client budgets.

You will balance your responsibilities between key accounts, focusing on the creative vision of a high volume of global partnership events spanning Business Engagement Platforms, Sports, and Government Relations—and our broader portfolio of retained clients, while also actively contributing to new business pitches and the successful delivery of newly acquired work.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Strategy

  • Outgoing, charismatic, and collaborative. A creative who believes in his work more than anyone in the room yet is still able to adapt to client needs and requests.
  • Act as an internal creative thought leader and elevate studio leadership within GPJ.
  • Lead all areas of creative development, including process, conceptual development, and the improvement of proposal standards.
  • Provide personality, motivation, and a distinct creative voice on all engagements, pitch developments, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Drive and support the end-to-end creative process across assigned accounts and projects.
  • Serve as the primary creative guardian for the DP World Global Account, maintaining creative consistency across global events while also driving creative innovation for our broader portfolio of retained clients.

Client Relationship & Pitch Management

  • Partner with Client Services and relevant GPJ staff to articulate complex client needs and present ideas effectively.
  • Confidently pitch, present, and sell innovative concepts and integrated marketing programs to senior client stakeholders.
  • Translate business strategy and client objectives into compelling, authentic, and memorable experiences for our brands.
  • Communicate difficult or sensitive information tactfully and professionally.
  • Translate DP World’s strategic pillars—specifically Business Engagement Platforms, Sports, and Government Relations—into winning creative concepts during pitches, and leverage this expertise to drive successful conversions for new business opportunities.

Project Execution & Experience Design

  • Lead the conception, design, and execution of experiential campaigns, including event design, experience design, tradeshow programs, lifestyle initiatives, and digital/UI platforms.
  • Participate directly in brainstorming initial creative direction with design and other creative resources.
  • Author comprehensive written "white papers" outlining strategic direction and tactical solutions for creative resources to use throughout development.
  • Ensure all visual deliverables, strategic documentation, and creative tactics meet exceptional quality standards.

Commercial & Budgetary Discipline

  • Oversee creative development to ensure deliverables are executed in strict balance with client budgets and established timelines.
  • Champion innovation by developing and supporting improved methods, products, or technologies that maximize value and impact for the client.
  • Manage creative resourcing and output against client-specific retainer structures, ensuring fiscal responsibility on the DP World account while proactively identifying and scoping incremental creative needs.

Team Collaboration & Talent Development

  • Hire, mentor, motivate, and manage the internal creative team and external contractors.
  • Collaborate frequently and foster a strong culture of accountability with the wider Creative team, Client Services, and Operations.
  • Partner seamlessly across all GPJ disciplines—including 2D/3D Design, Digital Experience, Technology, Sales, Marketing, Program Strategy, Production, and sister agencies—to provide comprehensive engagement marketing solutions.
  • Foster seamless integration with the DP World Inter-Agency Team (IAT) and wider GPJ disciplines, ensuring a unified creative delivery across complex, multi-stakeholder global programs.

About You

You are a born leader with an impressive knack for galvanizing teams around a common goal, keeping the creative process perfectly aligned with GPJ and client business objectives. As a natural storyteller, you possess excellent creative and artistic presentation skills, with a rare ability to articulate complex concepts clearly, compellingly, and elegantly. For you, style matters just as much as substance, and you have an intuitive sense of how to deliver impactful work.

You are a quick study who is fast on your feet and even faster with your mind. You possess exceptional time management skills, a healthy sense of urgency, and thrive when juggling multiple projects simultaneously. As an innovative and flexible thinker, you can change directions quickly without letting performance slip, and you constantly challenge yourself to develop authentic ideas that transform a client's brand.

Your Background, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Advertising, Theater, or a related creative discipline.
  • 10+ years of industry experience or related creative process experience combining strategy, content, and messaging with creative deliverables.
  • Deep expertise in Event and Experience Design is highly desirable.
  • Broad-based exposure to and deep knowledge of art, design, technology, music, media, and content production.
  • Advanced proficiency as a Mac and Adobe Creative Suite user.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills across all dimensions of communication.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet project objectives.
