Structural Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer specializing in structural steel, aluminum, and façade systems to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for structural analysis, design, engineering coordination, preparation of fabrication and shop drawings, and ensuring compliance with local authority regulations and international design standards. The role requires close coordination with architects, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and fabrication teams from concept through project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural steel, aluminum, and façade systems for commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
• Perform structural calculations using recognized engineering principles and applicable design codes.
• Prepare detailed structural design reports and calculation packages for consultant and authority approvals.
• Develop fabrication drawings, shop drawings, GA drawings, connection details, and erection drawings for steel and aluminum works.
• Coordinate engineering designs with architectural, MEP, and construction teams.
• Review IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents to ensure design compliance.
• Optimize structural designs for cost-effectiveness, constructability, and fabrication efficiency.
• Coordinate with fabrication workshops and site teams to resolve technical issues during manufacturing and installation.
• Review material specifications, connection details, weld details, bolt requirements, and fabrication procedures.
• Participate in design coordination meetings with consultants and clients.
• Prepare engineering submittals, RFIs, method statements, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with UAE authority requirements, including Dubai Municipality (DM) and Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM), where applicable.
• Provide technical support during tendering, procurement, fabrication, and project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel, aluminum, and façade engineering.
• Proven experience in structural analysis and design of steel buildings, aluminum structures, and façade systems.
• Strong experience in preparing fabrication drawings and shop drawings for steel and aluminum works.
• Sound knowledge of international design standards including Eurocodes, AISC, BS Standards, and relevant UAE regulations.
• Excellent understanding of structural connections, weld design, bolted connections, and fabrication practices.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, and fabrication workshops.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Valid Dubai Municipality (DM) or Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) Structural Engineer Registration for G+1 or G+4 Building Contracting and/or Steel Contracting.
• Proficiency in:
• AutoCAD
• Revit
• Tekla Structures
• SAP2000
• ETABS
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with connection design software.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows and clash coordination.
• Experience in value engineering and design optimization.
• Familiarity with façade engineering systems including curtain walls, skylights, canopies, louvers, handrails, and aluminum glazing systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Pay: AED12,000.00 - AED18,000.00 per month
