Senior Structural Engineer (Site-Based)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team for a site-based role in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising structural works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and delivering projects to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor all structural works on-site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and RFIs related to structural works.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure quality control throughout all construction stages.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure construction activities comply with project schedules and quality standards.
• Identify structural issues on-site and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Witness inspections, material testing, and commissioning activities where applicable.
• Prepare site reports, progress updates, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Attend site meetings and represent the structural engineering discipline.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, with substantial experience in site supervision of high-rise, residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of international structural design codes and UAE construction regulations.
• Experience working with engineering consultants is highly preferred.
• Excellent understanding of reinforced concrete and structural steel construction.
• Ability to review structural calculations, shop drawings, and technical submittals.
• Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. Knowledge of ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, or STAAD Pro is an advantage.
• UAE driving license is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership in a recognized engineering institution.
• Previous experience with consultant firms in the UAE.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
