Masking and Measurement Engineer - Fresh Graduate in Architectural Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Masking and Measurement Engineer is responsible for taking accurate on-site measurements at residential client homes before execution begins, and carrying out masking/protection of existing surfaces, fixtures, and furniture to prevent damage during interior work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Site Measurement

* Take accurate room, wall, and fixture measurements at residential sites as per design drawings.

* Cross-verify site measurements against design drawings and flag discrepancies to the Site Engineer/Designer.

* Record measurements clearly and share updated measurement sheets for drawing/BOQ finalization.

Masking & Site Protection

* Mask and protect existing flooring, walls, furniture, fixtures, and fittings in the home before work commences.

* Ensure masking materials and methods used are appropriate for each surface type.

* Re-check and reinforce masking periodically during the course of execution, given occupied/live home settings.

Site Coordination

* Coordinate with Site Engineer/subcontractors to plan measurement and masking around the homeowner's schedule.

* Flag any pre-existing damage or site condition issues before work begins, with photo documentation.

* Support removal of masking and site cleanup upon work completion, ensuring no damage to protected areas.

Documentation

* Maintain measurement sheets, masking checklists, and before/after photo records for each home.

* Report completed measurement and masking activities to the Site Engineer/Project Manager.

KEY SUCCESS METRICS (KPIs)

* Measurement accuracy (variance between recorded and actual site measurements).

* Turnaround time for measurement and masking completion per home.

* Number of damage complaints on masked/protected areas.

* Completeness and quality of masking (audit/inspection pass rate).

* Timeliness and accuracy of measurement sheets and documentation.

* Pre-existing damage flagged and documented before work start (reduces disputes with homeowners).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

* 0–2 years in interior fit-out, construction, or related site work; freshers with attention to detail may be considered.
