Climate Risk Manager / Climate Resilience Director / Environmental Risk Lead

Role Description

Lead the organization's climate risk, environmental resilience, and sustainability risk management initiatives by developing strategies that identify, assess, and mitigate climate-related risks while strengthening business resilience and supporting long-term environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives. This leadership role is responsible for establishing climate risk frameworks, evaluating physical and transition risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and integrating climate resilience into enterprise risk management and business strategy. The successful candidate will collaborate with executive leadership, sustainability, finance, operations, supply chain, legal, compliance, environmental health and safety (EHS), engineering, procurement, investor relations, and cross-functional stakeholders to align climate initiatives with corporate objectives and international sustainability standards. The role also involves conducting climate scenario analysis, supporting ESG reporting, managing environmental risk assessments, overseeing carbon reduction initiatives, implementing climate adaptation strategies, evaluating supplier climate risks, developing resilience roadmaps, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI)-powered environmental analytics, predictive climate modeling, geospatial analysis, business continuity planning, governance frameworks, regulatory reporting, and continuous improvements that strengthen environmental resilience, operational sustainability, regulatory compliance, and long-term business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Science, Environmental Engineering, Risk Management, Business Administration, Geography, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.
• Proven experience as a Climate Risk Manager, Climate Resilience Director, Environmental Risk Lead, Sustainability Manager, ESG Risk Manager, Environmental Compliance Manager, Enterprise Risk Manager, Climate Strategy Manager, or a similar sustainability and risk leadership role.
• Strong understanding of climate risk management, enterprise risk management (ERM), environmental sustainability, climate resilience, ESG principles, carbon management, environmental regulations, business continuity, governance, and operational risk management.
• Extensive experience conducting climate risk assessments, climate scenario analysis, sustainability reporting, environmental impact assessments, regulatory compliance reviews, climate adaptation planning, carbon reduction initiatives, stakeholder engagement, ESG strategy development, and enterprise resilience programs.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Microsoft Excel (Advanced), SAP Sustainability Control Tower, Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, Microsoft Sustainability Manager, IBM Envizi, ArcGIS, geospatial analytics platforms, enterprise risk management (ERM) systems, ESG reporting platforms, cloud-based sustainability solutions, and environmental data management tools.
• Strong knowledge of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (ISSB), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), CDP, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, ISO 14001, ISO 31000, COSO ERM, carbon accounting, biodiversity risk, circular economy principles, and environmental governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI), Generative AI, predictive climate analytics, machine learning, geospatial intelligence, digital twins, intelligent automation, cloud computing, IoT-enabled environmental monitoring, and emerging climate technologies is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate climate risks, interpret environmental data, develop resilience strategies, support executive decision-making, and align sustainability initiatives with business priorities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, regulators, investors, auditors, environmental agencies, consultants, suppliers, and cross-functional business teams.
• Experience leading multinational sustainability initiatives, ESG transformation programs, climate resilience planning, environmental compliance projects, enterprise risk programs, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) due diligence, or large-scale environmental reporting initiatives is highly desirable.
• Strong program and project management capabilities with experience managing climate risk portfolios, sustainability roadmaps, governance frameworks, budgets, cross-functional teams, environmental reporting cycles, and multiple concurrent strategic initiatives.
• Professional certifications such as Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR®) Certificate, Project Management Professional (PMP), ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, ISO 31000 Risk Management Certification, GRI Professional Certification, Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), or equivalent sustainability and risk management qualifications are considered an advantage.
• A strategic, sustainability-focused, and results-oriented environmental leader with a passion for leveraging AI, Generative AI, predictive analytics, geospatial intelligence, automation, and modern sustainability technologies to strengthen climate resilience, reduce environmental risks, improve ESG performance, support regulatory compliance, and deliver sustainable long-term business success.
