  • Design distributed systems: microservices, message queues, caching, orchestration, Kubernetes & cloud infrastructure.
  • Ensure system scale, performance, reliability, security, and observability (monitoring, logging, alerting).
  • Collaborate across product, front-end, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Define and drive best practices for code quality, deployment, infrastructure, and system operations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • batch data processing in Python;
  • API microservices in Typescript;
  • DDL and DML SQL statements;
  • analytical SQL queries (window functions, deduplication, CTE, JSON);
  • push-based CDC in Postgres (logical replication);
  • queries for sub-millisecond latency over multi-million row Postgres table;
  • Postgres internals (WAL, TOAST, EXPLAIN);
  • infrastructure as code using Terraform;
  • deployments using Kubernetes;
  • Postgres installations on AWS RDS;
  • developer environments using Nix;
  • Tokio, Axum, SQLx;
  • Flink, Kafka;
  • Pandas, Numpy, Scipy;
  • Node.js, REST, gRPC;
  • asynchronous programming (multiprocessing, multithreading, green threads);
  • synchronization primitives (channels, mutexes, semaphores);
  • BDD, TDD, unit, integration testing, data QA;
  • Postgres dialect of SQL;
  • deploying to AWS;
  • writing Nixpkgs modules.

Minimum full-time salary of $180,000. Disclosure in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law. Full Time employees at Noise Labs are also eligible for other compensation elements, including equity and benefits, dependent on the position type.
