Technical Product Owner (Financial Services, Rental, Leasing, Mobility)

• This role works with business leaders and product owners across Financial Services, Rental, Leasing, Mobility and related businesses to capture, challenge, shape and prioritize technology demand in line with business strategy, regulatory obligations, architecture standards and available investment capacity.
• Owns the demand lifecycle from initial intake through assessment, approval, mobilization and delivery handover
• Demand Intake, Qualification and Prioritization: Act as the single technology point of contact for new demands and change requests from the FSTD portfolio. Establish and manage a structured demand intake process, ensuring every request has a clear business problem, sponsor, scope, expected outcome, urgency and funding path. Challenge requests constructively to distinguish genuine business needs from predetermined solutions and identify opportunities to reuse existing group platforms and capabilities. Triage demands based on strategic alignment, regulatory urgency, customer impact, value, complexity, risk, dependencies and delivery capacity. Maintain the portfolio demand register, prioritized pipeline, decision log and status reporting.
• Business Partnership and Portfolio Roadmap: Understand business strategy, operating models, regulatory commitments and pain points across Financial Services, Rental, Leasing, Mobility and associated businesses. Develop and maintain an integrated technology roadmap showing committed initiatives, candidate demands, dependencies, risks, capacity and sequencing. Provide clear, objective recommendations on which initiatives should proceed, be deferred, or be discontinued based on business priorities and strategic value.
• Solution Shaping and Governance: Ensure proposed solutions align with group architecture, security, data, integration, sourcing and technology standards before commitment. Identify solution options, reuse opportunities, integration impacts, data requirements, non-functional requirements, localization needs and decommissioning implications. Ensure regulated initiatives address auditability, data residency, access control, segregation, compliance and operational resilience requirements. Prepare demands for the relevant governance forums and track actions through closure.
• Business Case, Funding and Sourcing Support: Support annual planning, AFE preparation, budgeting and investment governance. Participate in Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) activities, evaluate functional and technical fit, delivery approach, commercial assumptions and vendor capability. Ensure scope, assumptions, exclusions, dependencies and commercial commitments are clearly documented before award
• Requirements and Backlog Readiness: Define acceptance criteria, business rules, process flows, data needs, integration points and non-functional requirements. Ensure backlog items meet the definition of ready and link to approved scope and intended business outcomes. Facilitate discovery, design thinking, process mapping and requirement workshops. Maintain traceability from business objective to requirement, solution and acceptance.
• Delivery Oversight and Business Acceptance: Monitor delivery against approved scope, business outcomes, dependencies and key risks without replacing the delivery manager. Coordinate business readiness, UAT, acceptance, cut-over and transition-to-support inputs. Ensure delivered capabilities are adopted and that benefits, lessons and follow-on demands are captured. • Portfolio Reporting, Risk and Continuous Improvement: Identify cross-business synergies and opportunities to standardize or consolidate platforms and processes. Improve demand management templates, governance, metrics and ways of working based on lessons learned. Escalate regulatory, commercial, architectural, cybersecurity, data and delivery risks early with clear options and recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Relevant product, agile, architecture or project certifications are beneficial.
• 7–10 years of technology experience, including at least 3–5 years in a product ownership, business analysis, demand management, solution consulting or technology portfolio role.
• Experience working across complex, multi-entity environments and with regulated or customer-facing businesses is strongly preferred.
• Practical knowledge of financial services, lending, leasing, rental, mobility, insurance, banking or adjacent business models. Understanding of customer journeys, digital channels, CRM, data platforms, integrations, enterprise applications and cloud/SaaS delivery.
