Job description

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of landscaping, irrigation, softscape, hardscape, and civil works projects. The role ensures projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality standards and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and project specifications.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for landscaping, irrigation, softscape, hardscape, and civil works.
  • Review project drawings and specifications for quantity verification.
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Prepare and process subcontract agreements and purchase requests.
  • Monitor project costs and control expenditures throughout the project.
  • Measure work completed and prepare monthly progress valuations.
  • Prepare variation orders (VO), claims, and supporting documents.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Procurement, and Finance Departments.
  • Verify subcontractor invoices and supplier payment certificates.
  • Maintain records of quantities, cost reports, and contractual documentation.
  • Assist in project budgeting, forecasting, and final account preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with contract conditions and project requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience in landscaping, irrigation, or civil construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, and cost estimation.
  • Familiar with FIDIC contracts and UAE construction standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Office.
  • Experience with quantity surveying software is an advantage.
  • Good communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
