  • Serve as the Construction Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HS&W) Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing support across regional project portfolios.

  • Provide governance, assurance, and oversight to ensure compliance with applicable legal obligations, project HS&W assurance programs, and industry best practices throughout project planning and execution phases.

  • Verify that contractors maintain sufficient and competent HS&W resources and monitor performance, addressing any capability or compliance concerns as they arise.

  • Ensure contractors develop and implement effective construction phase plans and project HS&W programs that meet regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and site-specific HS&W expectations. Conduct regular audits, site inspections, and workforce engagement activities to assess compliance and performance.

  • Partner with contractors to drive continuous improvement initiatives related to health, safety, wellbeing, and positive safety culture.

  • Establish clear accountability and responsibility frameworks between project teams and contractors, including ownership of HS&W obligations for temporary construction facilities and work areas.

  • Promote the implementation of workforce drug and alcohol testing programs, where legally permissible, including periodic testing schedules and management of any non-compliance issues.

  • Ensure all incidents, accidents, and near misses are reported, investigated, and documented appropriately. Support comprehensive root cause analysis, ensure corrective actions are tracked to closure, and verify compliance with statutory reporting requirements.

  • Monitor project HS&W performance through dashboards, metrics, and reporting processes, ensuring timely submission of required reports to relevant stakeholders.

  • Develop and communicate safety alerts, lessons learned, and incident learnings, ensuring knowledge is shared and embedded across the broader project portfolio.

  • Participate actively in regional construction safety networks and forums to promote consistent standards, best practices, and effective ways of working.

  • Collaborate closely with local site safety leadership teams to align project activities with site safety objectives and requirements.

  • Support the development of HS&W leadership capabilities and competencies across project teams, fostering a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.

  • Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) or equivalent professional qualification.

  • Demonstrated experience in Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HS&W) management within construction project environments.

  • Strong working knowledge of applicable Workplace Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.

  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and coordinate activities across multiple buildings, project areas, and interfacing workstreams.

  • Solid expertise in construction planning and constructability reviews, with hands-on experience in cleanroom and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) facility construction and execution.

  • Strong risk assessment, hazard identification, and contractor management capabilities.

  • Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage effectively with project teams, contractors, and site leadership.

  • Ability to drive a proactive safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives across project portfolios.
