Job description

About The Role

We are looking for a Compliance Manager (Customer Due Diligence) to lead our CDD team and take ownership of high-risk onboarding across corporate customers, individuals, and card programs. In this role, you will manage a team of CDD analysts—overseeing their workload, coaching, and skill development—and serve as the critical quality gate before cases reach the Head of Compliance and the Due Diligence Committee (DDC).

Beyond onboarding, you will own periodic reviews and ongoing monitoring, author the onboarding playbook utilized by the Operations team, and ensure the division of responsibilities between Compliance and Ops remains clearly defined. You will also spearhead projects related to due diligence tooling and vendor governance. This includes ensuring that name-screening vendor configurations meet our standards and collaborating with the Product team to roll out new features responsibly from a compliance perspective.

What You Will Do

Team Leadership: Lead and manage the CDD Analyst team, overseeing workload distribution, coaching, and continuous professional development.

Quality Assurance: Serve as the final quality gate for high-risk onboarding cases (corporate customers, individuals, and card programs) before they are escalated to the Head of Compliance for decisioning.

Committee Preparation: Prepare comprehensive case details for the Due Diligence Committee (DDC) and attend meetings to walk through case specifics alongside the Head of Compliance.

Process Ownership: Develop, author, and maintain the onboarding playbook used by the Onboarding and Account Operations teams.

Ongoing Monitoring: Oversee end-to-end periodic reviews and ongoing monitoring workflows.

Cross-Team Alignment: Ensure a clear, practical, and effective division of responsibilities between the Compliance team and Operations.

Tooling & Governance: Manage due diligence tooling and vendor governance (e.g., name-screening configurations), working closely with Product to ensure tools and features are deployed responsibly.

Project Management: Drive cross-functional projects focused on continuously improving due diligence processes, policies, and system capabilities.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: 5–8 years of AML/CDD/KYC experience within banking, payments, FinTech, or another regulated financial services environment.

Leadership: At least 1–2 years of direct experience managing or leading a team.

Decision-Making: Comfort making sound judgment calls in ambiguous or "gray" areas, effectively balancing regulatory intent with business realities.

Communication: Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to draft detailed case packs that hold up to rigorous committee and regulatory scrutiny.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Active CAMS (or equivalent) certification.

Experience with card-issuing or card program due diligence.

Prior exposure to digital assets, stablecoins, or cross-border payments.
