Summary

The Global Analytical Quality Manager is responsible for defining and leading FMC’s global analytical quality framework for Active Ingredients and formulations, covering both internal manufacturing and externally tolled production. The role provides global ownership for analytical quality standards, method governance, laboratory capability, and analytical support for toll manufacturing, with a strong operational focus on APAC.

A key accountability is early and active leadership in the setup and operationalization of the new analytical laboratory in Schaffhausen, ensuring laboratory design, equipment strategy, methods, and team capabilities are aligned with business and quality needs.

Main Responsibilities

Define, implement, and maintain global analytical quality standards, governance, and testing strategies for Active Ingredient, formulation manufacturing, and externally tolled production

Provide global oversight of analytical quality for toll manufacturing, ensuring consistent application of analytical controls, methods, and quality requirements

Lead analytical involvement in the design, setup, and operationalization of the Schaffhausen analytical laboratory, including laboratory strategy, equipment, and capabilities

Drive analytical technology leadership through the evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of analytical methods, technologies, and capital projects

Oversee the analytical method lifecycle, including method development, validation, transfer, governance, and ongoing performance monitoring

Serve as the global escalation point for complex analytical quality issues, supporting investigations, risk mitigation, and resolution across the network

Provide analytical expertise to support Intellectual Property, Brand Protection, customer, regulatory, and internal audit activities

Lead and develop analytical quality teams through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing, fostering strong scientific expertise and a culture of quality excellence

Mandatory Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline required; Master’s or PhD preferred

Minimum 7 years of experience in analytical chemistry, quality control, or quality assurance within a regulated manufacturing or R&D environment

Proven leadership in laboratory safety, with a strong track record of establishing and maintaining safe working practices

Strong technical expertise in analytical method development, validation, transfer, and troubleshooting using techniques such as HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, IR spectroscopy, and titration

Experience supporting analytical technology transfer, preferably including collaboration with external manufacturing or external manufacturing partners

Strong analytical thinking and sound decision-making skills, with a pragmatic, data-driven approach to problem solving

Ability to interpret and apply complex scientific principles within a global manufacturing and quality environment

Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across functions, regions, and cultures

Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and drive results in cross-functional and matrix organizations
