MEP Design Lead (Electrical) Airport experience

We are seeking an experienced MEP Design Lead (Electrical) to join our organization in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In this leadership role, you will oversee the electrical design aspects of complex airport infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations. You will lead a team of electrical engineers and designers, driving innovation while maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence and project delivery.

• Lead the electrical design team in developing comprehensive MEP designs for airport terminal facilities, including power distribution systems, lighting design, fire safety systems, and emergency backup systems etc...

• Analyze project requirements and develop detailed electrical design solutions that meet airport operational needs, safety standards, and sustainability objectives

• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration of all MEP systems within the airport infrastructure

• Manage the design process from concept through construction documentation, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets

• Review and approve all electrical design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and calculations, for accuracy and compliance

• Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence

• Ensure all designs comply with Saudi building codes, international airport standards, and applicable regulations

• Utilize BIM and advanced design software to create coordinated, clash-free models and documentation

• Communicate design decisions and project status to stakeholders, clients, and project management teams

• Participate in design reviews, value engineering sessions, and problem-solving initiatives to optimize project outcomes

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in MEP design with a strong focus on electrical systems

• Proven experience designing electrical systems for airport projects

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams and mentoring junior staff

• Advanced proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design tools

• Strong knowledge of building codes, electrical standards, and airport-specific design requirements

• Expertise in power distribution systems, lighting design, fire safety systems, and emergency power solutions

• Solid understanding of BIM (Building Information Modeling) principles and coordination practices

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

• Proficiency in project management and ability to manage multiple design workstreams simultaneously

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams

• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian building regulations and international airport design standards

• Preferred: LEED accreditation or sustainable design certification

• Preferred: Experience with advanced energy modeling and sustainable electrical design practices

• Preferred: Knowledge of airport operational requirements and terminal facility systems
