About the internship

The Product Design department of Joolz is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Product Design Intern to join the team from September 2026.

As part of our Product Design team, you will contribute to the development of premium products that help parents confidently navigate family life. Throughout your internship, you will work alongside experienced designers and cross-functional teams to support product development projects from early concept exploration through to detailed design and validation.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to experience the complete product development process. You'll have the opportunity conduct user and market research, generate concepts, create sketches, CAD models and prototypes, support product testing and validation, and collaborate closely with engineering, project management, product marketing and quality teams. You'll gain valuable insight into designing products for parents that combine innovation, functionality, quality and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Product Design team throughout the product development process.
• Generate concepts through sketching, ideation and user-centred design methods.
• Create 3D models, renderings and presentation materials.
• Build and evaluate both hardware and soft goods prototypes to validate design solutions.
• Conduct user, trend, and competitor research to support design decisions.
• Assist in preparing design documentation and technical specifications.
• Participate in product reviews, user-tests, and cross-functional project meetings.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Product Marketing, and Quality teams to develop products that meet user, business and manufacturing requirements.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

• Is available for a 5–6-month internship.
• Is currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial design engineering, product design, or a related field.
• Has experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks is a plus).
• Has strong sketching, visual communication and presentation skills.
• Enjoys hands-on prototyping and testing.
• Is curious, creative and eager to learn.
• Can work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Has a good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
• Has permanent legal rights to work in the Netherlands.
