About the role   

 

Packsize is looking for a Machine Compliance Specialist to join the Global R&D Hardware team. We are seeking someone who is an expert in CE (Conformité Européenne) machine compliance and can provide practical design guidance and feedback to engineering teams. This person will also lead the effort on technical file creation, management, and process conformance, serve as the primary point of contact in Europe for CE compliance questions, and may interact with regulatory authorities as needed.

 

What you’ll do  

 

Be the global subject matter expert in CE compliance for Packsize  

Provide hands-on compliance feedback to engineering during new machine development and production  

Review existing machine designs and CE documentation for accuracy and completeness  

Audit compliance program processes and recommend improvements  

Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure design best practices align with CE requirements  

Oversee and participate in risk assessments for new machines  

Interact with regulatory authorities and third-party auditors as needed  

Demonstrate strong knowledge of internal product and technology development processes  

 

What you’ll need  

 

BS/MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, Safety-related degree, or equivalent industry experience  

4+ years’ experience in the similar role  

Expert knowledge of CE (Conformité Européenne) requirements and ISO standards  

Advanced knowledge desired in additional certifications (UL, ETL, CSA, etc.)  

Knowledgeable and experienced in automation technology, industrial automation design, and system architecture  

Track record of successful CE program/project management  

Fluent in English (written & spoken)   

Working knowledge in reading parts and assembly drawings including geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T, ISO GPS vs. ASME Y14.5), and technical requirements  

Working knowledge of PLCs, microcontrollers, machine automation, and programming  

Comfortable making compliance-related decisions and providing guidance to engineers  

Travel will be required when needed 

 

Nice to have  

 

Experience with other international machine safety standards (e.g., IEC,, , ATEX)  

Fluent in Dutch  

Prior experience in global R&D hardware organizations with distributed teams
