About the role 

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Packsize, you play a key role in strengthening our manufacturing capabilities and supporting the industrialization of innovative, customer-driven packaging solutions. You will work at the intersection of product development, manufacturing, and supply chain, ensuring new and existing products are designed and produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and at the highest quality standards. 

You will lead and support industrialization, improvement, and investment projects while continuously optimizing manufacturing and assembly processes in a highly technical, multidisciplinary environment. 

 

What you’ll do 

Lead and execute industrialization, improvement, and investment projects for new and existing products 

Analyze and influence product designs early in the development process to ensure manufacturability, assembly efficiency, quality, and cost targets 

Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes using Lean and Six Sigma principles 

Support the transition from product development to manufacturing, including prototype builds and process validation 

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions 

Initiate and manage engineering changes (ECNs/CNs), assessing their impact on manufacturing, cost, quality, and lifecycle performance 

Collaborate closely with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and external suppliers 

Monitor and report on project progress, milestones, and results 

Stay current with trends and developments in manufacturing technologies and production methods, sharing insights with stakeholders 

 

What you’ll need 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field 

Fluent in English (written and spoken) 

Several years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, or process engineering 

Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, preferably in a high-mix or engineered-to-order environment 

Proven experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt required) 

Ability to influence product and process design decisions through technical expertise 

Strong project management skills and experience working in cross-functional teams 

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills 

Clear and convincing communication skills in a multidisciplinary environment 

 

What’s nice to have 

Experience in capital investment projects and production line design 

Exposure to full product lifecycle management, from concept to end-of-life 

Experience with SAP and manufacturing-related IT systems 

Six Sigma Black Belt training or certification 

Ability to speak Dutch and Frisian
