About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and proactive Senior Accounting Specialist to join our cohesive European accounting team. In this key role, you will ensure accurate financial record-keeping, prepare insightful reports, and uphold compliance with US and local GAAP, as well as company policies. You will work closely with the finance department to manage daily accounting operations, support financial analysis, and drive process improvements. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
What you'll do
Maintain and record financial transactions in accordance with US and local GAAP.
Prepare, post, and review journal entries for accuracy and completeness.
Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger accounts daily.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Review expense reports, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
Analyze accounting data to identify discrepancies and recommend improvements.
Prepare account reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Provide financial analysis and respond to ad-hoc reporting requests.
Review customer contracts to assess accounting treatment, including billing and revenue deferrals.
Manage and execute recurring monthly billing for all customers.
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and company policies.
What you'll need
6+ years of professional accounting experience, including 2-3 years in external audit.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, RA, or equivalent preferred).
Fluency in English; strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with accounting software.
Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
Initiative, creativity, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Nice to have
Experience with SAP, Basware, Salesforce, Adaptive, and DOMO.
Fluency in German
