Job Description:

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful execution of electrical infrastructure projects in Singapore. This role is responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and in line with contractual requirements while maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

We are looking for a project professional with extensive experience managing projects within the electrical engineering industry, particularly in utility and power distribution environments. While transmission experience is not required, candidates should possess a strong understanding of utility projects, customer requirements, and end-to-end project delivery within the power sector. Experience and demonstrated project delivery success are valued more highly than a specific number of years in the field.

How you'll make an impact:

  • You will lead project teams and coordinate internal and external resources to ensure successful project execution and achievement of project objectives.

  • You will establish project execution plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk management strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders.

  • You will monitor project progress, performance, financials, invoicing, costs, cash flow, and resource utilization, implementing corrective actions where required.

  • You will identify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

  • You will ensure projects are executed in accordance with Hitachi Energy policies, quality standards, contractual obligations, and project management best practices.

  • You will coordinate procurement activities with Supply Chain Management and support supplier management, negotiations, claims, and change management processes.

  • You will manage contractual matters, including claims, variations, and project close-out activities.

  • You will act as the primary customer interface and escalation point for project-related matters, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • You will capture and share lessons learned and ensure successful project handover and customer acceptance upon completion.

  • You will promote a strong culture of health, safety, integrity, and environmental responsibility across all project activities.

  • Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your background:

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • Proven experience managing electrical engineering or utility infrastructure projects in Singapore.

  • Strong project management experience within the utilities sector, preferably in power distribution, substations, grid infrastructure, or related electrical engineering environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, financial performance, contractual obligations, risks, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders in a complex project environment.

  • Strong commercial awareness with exposure to contract management, claims management, and procurement coordination.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification would be advantageous.

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
