Job Title: Specialist Civil Structural Engineer**– Offshore Water Injection Project**

KBR Abu Dhabi PMC Team is currently looking to fill a position of Specialist Civil Structural Engineer for an Offshore Project to be based in UAE ( Abu Dhabi) as soon as the administrative processes are completed, will then relocate to Spain Office and then return to Abu Dhabi .

Position Summary

The Specialist Civil Structural Engineer is responsible for the engineering, design, analysis, verification, and integrity management of civil and structural systems associated with an Offshore Water Injection Project. The role ensures that offshore platforms, topsides, foundations, pipe racks, modules, and supporting structures are designed and executed in compliance with project specifications, international codes, safety requirements, and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design

  • Lead civil and structural engineering activities throughout FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Perform structural analysis and design for:
    • Offshore platforms and jackets
    • Topside structures
    • Water injection modules
    • Pipe supports and pipe racks
    • Equipment foundations
    • Access structures, helidecks, and crane foundations
  • Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and material requisitions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as API, AISC, ISO, DNV, Eurocodes, and company specifications.

Offshore Facilities & Water Injection Systems

  • Evaluate structural impacts of water injection facilities, pumps, pressure vessels, pipelines, and associated equipment.
  • Verify structural adequacy for static, dynamic, fatigue, seismic, transportation, lifting, and installation loads.
  • Assess brownfield modifications and tie-ins to existing offshore assets.
  • Support platform upgrades and life-extension studies.

Project Execution

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, piping, marine, construction, and installation engineers.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Support procurement activities and technical bid evaluations.
  • Monitor engineering progress and resolve technical issues during project execution.

Construction & Installation Support

  • Review fabrication and installation methodologies.
  • Support offshore surveys, inspections, structural assessments, and site engineering activities.
  • Provide technical clarifications during fabrication and offshore construction.
  • Participate in commissioning and project handover activities.

Integrity & Compliance

  • Conduct structural integrity assessments and fitness-for-service evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support corrosion mitigation and structural inspection programs.
  • Review non-conformances and propose corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Master's Degree is advantageous.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience

  • Typically 15-18+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering.
  • Significant experience in offshore oil & gas, water injection, brownfield modifications, or offshore platform projects.
  • Experience with FEED, EPC, and offshore construction phases.
  • Proven experience working on offshore assets in the Middle East is highly desirable.

    • SAP2000
  • Knowledge of:
    • API RP 2A
    • DNV offshore standards
    • AISC steel design codes
    • ISO offshore structural requirements
  • Familiarity with offshore installation, loadout, transportation, and lifting analyses
