Job description

The Design Engineer HV Systems is responsible for the design and development of high voltage power distribution systems used in zero emission vehicles with full electric powertrains. The design Engineer is responsible for translating customer requirements into robust, manufacturable and cost‑effective solutions for series production. You will be involved throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through design validation and mass production, working closely within cross‑functional, international project teams.

This role offers strong development opportunities for high‑potential engineers. In this role, you can contribute to innovative solutions enabling the development of zero emission vehicles at key European vehicle OEMs. Sensata’s Tech Ladder provides a clear technical career path for individuals who demonstrate a proven track record of successful innovation within Sensata, enabling progression toward senior technical roles without the need to move into people management. You will report to the Design Engineering Manager.

General Responsibilities

• Leverages engineering fundamentals and org to make sound decisions on complex technical issues

• Detailed understanding of market and implications for business

• Proactively challenge and drives the organization to deliver improved quality and performance related to engineering design

• Product Strategy participant and driver

• Maintain product documentation (drawings and specifications)

• Direct interaction with customers to solicit product specifications requirements, schedule expectations and budget

• Corrosion research and welding characterization & has a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, mechanics, fluid, thermo and heat transfer

• Advanced knowledge of basic electrical circuits, microelectronic assembly, statistical methods, process control fundamentals and product test processes

• Familiarity with manufacturing methods – welding, brazing, soldering, adhesive bonding, machining, stamping, molding and forming. Basic knowledge of core manufacturing processes

Experience / Qualifications

• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

Base Salary Range: 64,700.00 EUR - 88,990.00 EUR

The salary range is published in line with the EU Pay Transparency Directive and relevant country legislation.
