About the role

Develop and lead the regional procurement strategy, objectives, governance and processes for Services across the Middle East & CIS region, covering all product lines including pump services, turbomachinery services, electromechanical services, spare parts, retrofits and field/site services. The role aligns regional procurement priorities with division, global SCM and business strategies, while supporting the needs of service centres, legal entities and project execution teams. It is accountable for improving supplier performance, reducing Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), improving On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery, shortening lead times, strengthening contract coverage and reducing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Main tasks: 

Develop regional procurement strategy, objectives and processes for the Services division across Middle East & CIS, in accordance with Sulzer procurement guidelines. 

Align regional priorities with Global Services SCM, division procurement and local business requirements. 

Develop and maintain a high-performance procurement culture that improves KPI delivery and customer service to internal and external stakeholders. 

Work across the division matrix organization, balancing global category strategies, regional needs, local legal entity requirements and service centre execution priorities. 

Deliver regional procurement benefits, savings, cost avoidance and supplier performance improvements across all service product lines. 

Provide specialist advice, guidance and service on leading practice procurement to the region. 

Manage long-term partnerships with key strategic suppliers, in alignment with division procurement, based on quality, cost, OTIF, responsiveness, compliance and regional service requirements. 

Assess, qualify and select regional suppliers in close cooperation with product line, service centre, project execution and legal entity teams. 

Drafting of regional framework agreements and execution of contract management 

Coordinate procurement development activities, e.g.: governance, new tools digital developments, e-procurement, supplier development, supplier risk, ESG. 

Standardization and monitoring the procurement processes 

Build and maintain a strong regional network with legal entity procurement managers and operational stakeholders across Middle East & CIS.

Strong negotiation skills to use for large commercial deals 

Experience with modern category management, sourcing and procurement systems 

Willingness to travel 

Qualifications & Experience Required:

Education requirements: 

Educated to degree level in supply chain management, economics, finance, operations, engineering, or a related area, with a master’s degree preferred 

Job experience: 

Minimum of 5 years of experience in regional procurement, senior supply management, or operations experience  

Proven track record of delivering large savings and other value to large swaths of spend via a strong team of employees 

Knowledge requirements (professional, technical, language, safety): 

Knowledge of customs legislation and procedures 

Familiar with the major ERP systems 

Fluent in English 

Supplier Management Knowledge 

(OTIF, Lead-times, Safety Stocks, MOQ, Supplier Assessment, Supplier Contracts, Supplier Quality)
