Junior Accountant

Supporting the maintenance of accurate financial records, assisting in report preparation, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures, standards, and company policies under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping, including posting invoices, expenses, journals, accruals, and maintaining general ledger accuracy.

• Maintain project cost ledgers, cost coding, and budget-vs-actual tracking under supervision.

• Record project revenue, IPCs, variations, and client invoicing based on approved documentation.

• Process and reconcile subcontractor and supplier accounts, including advances, retentions, and settlement tracking.

• Maintain general ledger postings and assist in balance-sheet reconciliations.

• Support accounts payable and receivable processes, invoice settlement, and follow-up on outstanding balances.

• Prepare journal vouchers, perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations, and flag discrepancies.

• Support project accounting activities, including cost allocation and review of subcontractor claims and supplier invoices for accuracy.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities and preparation of financial reports.

• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and required documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Accounting related certification (preferred)

• 3+ years of accounting experience within contracting or construction companies.

• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office Tools.

• Basic working knowledge of UAE VAT and local regulatory requirements.

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a live-project environment.
