Technical Manager

Nova International General Contracting is seeking an experienced Technical Manager with a proven background in delivering large-scale, luxury residential developments, high-end villas, residential compounds, and mixed-use projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all technical functions of the business, ensuring design compliance, engineering excellence, constructability, value engineering, and coordination across projects from pre-construction through handover.

The ideal candidate will have 17+ years of experience within reputable contracting companies in the UAE/GCC, with extensive exposure to luxury residential and high-rise residential developments.

Key responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

• Lead and manage the technical department, including design coordination, engineering, BIM, and technical office teams.

• Oversee the review and coordination of architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist subcontractor designs.

• Ensure design deliverables comply with project specifications, local authorities, and international standards.

• Drive technical excellence across all ongoing projects.

Engineering Management

• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical proposals.

• Identify design clashes, technical issues, and constructability concerns.

• Provide technical solutions to complex site challenges.

• Manage design consultants and ensure timely resolution of RFIs and technical queries.

Design Management

• Lead and coordinate the multidisciplinary design process, ensuring timely delivery of all design deliverables in accordance with project requirements.

• Review and manage design quality, compliance, constructability, and adherence to applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, authorities, and internal teams to resolve design issues and ensure effective project integration.

• Monitor design progress, manage design changes and risks, and support value engineering to optimize cost, quality, and project performance.

Project Support

• Support project teams during planning, execution, procurement, and handover stages.

• Work closely with Project Managers and Construction Managers to ensure alignment between design and construction activities.

• Monitor technical risks and implement mitigation measures.

Value Engineering

• Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and project delivery.

• Recommend alternative materials, systems, and construction methodologies.

• Identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary technical interface with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

• Participate in technical meetings and presentations with clients and project stakeholders.

• Ensure all technical submissions receive timely approvals.

Compliance & Quality

• Ensure compliance with UAE building regulations, authority requirements, and project specifications.

• Support quality assurance initiatives and technical audits across projects.

• Promote best practices in engineering, construction, and design management.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Architectural (Master's Degree preferred).

• Professional Engineering certification is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 17 years of experience in engineering and construction.

• At least 10 years in a senior technical leadership role within leading contracting companies.

• Strong experience delivering:

• Luxury villas

• High-end residential communities

• Residential towers

• Mixed-use developments

• Design & Build projects

• Extensive UAE/GCC experience is essential.

Technical Competencies

• Strong understanding of structural, architectural, and MEP design coordination.

• Expertise in construction methodologies and buildability reviews.

• Strong knowledge of UAE authorities, codes, regulations, and approval processes.

• Experience with BIM, engineering management systems, and digital construction tools.
