Financial Analyst – Editorial Research & Awards

Role Purpose (Please read carefully before applying)

Global Banking & Finance Review is seeking a *Financial Analyst – Editorial Research & Awards* to support the independent evaluation of financial institutions and corporate organisations for our globally recognised awards programmes.

The successful candidate will conduct detailed financial and qualitative research on companies, assess institutional performance, and provide evidence-based recommendations for award consideration. Every recommendation must be supported by documented research and align with GBAF's editorial methodology and governance standards.

The role requires analytical thinking, sound judgement, and the ability to make objective decisions based solely on evidence, without influence from commercial interests.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial & Corporate Research

* Analyse annual reports, financial statements, investor presentations, and public disclosures.

* Evaluate company performance using financial and operational metrics.

* Research corporate strategy, governance, innovation, customer service, digital transformation, ESG initiatives, and market position.

* Monitor regulatory developments, public announcements, and industry news.

* Conduct benchmarking against competitors and industry peers.

2. Awards Evaluation

* Assess organisations against GBAF's editorial award criteria.

* Prepare well-documented evaluation reports and scoring recommendations.

* Identify organisations that demonstrate exceptional performance, innovation, governance, or customer excellence.

* Ensure all recommendations are supported by credible and verifiable evidence.

* Maintain consistency across evaluations and award categories.

3. Editorial Research

* Conduct market and industry research across banking, insurance, fintech, asset management, capital markets, and financial services.

* Verify the accuracy of data and supporting evidence.

* Identify emerging market trends and outstanding industry achievements.

* Maintain research databases and supporting documentation.

4. Governance & Integrity

* Follow GBAF's editorial methodology and evaluation framework.

* Maintain complete independence from commercial, sponsorship, and sales activities.

* Ensure confidentiality of research materials and award deliberations.

* Document the rationale behind every recommendation for internal review and audit purposes.

5. Required Experience

*6 months or more of experience in one or more of the following:

* Financial Analysis

* Equity Research

* Investment Research

* Corporate Finance

* Banking

* Credit Analysis

* Financial Journalism

* Business Research

* Management Consulting

* Experience analysing financial statements and company performance.

* Experience preparing analytical reports and presenting findings.

* Experience within the financial services industry is highly desirable.

7. Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.

* CFA, ACCA, CA, CPA, FRM, or similar professional qualifications are an advantage.

* Knowledge of global banking and financial services is preferred.
