We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Analyst to join our LNG Trading Analytics team. This position is ideally based in Asia (Singapore etc.) and forms part of a globally respected team of gas and LNG market experts delivering market-leading short-term analytics and forecasts.
As part of our ongoing investment in short-term gas and LNG market analytics, we are expanding our demand forecasting and modelling capabilities. This role will play a central role in developing the next generation of short and medium term gas demand models, helping increase the cadence, granularity and scope of our analysis across Asian markets.
Unlike a traditional market analyst role, this position is initially focused on model development, quantitative analysis and forecast automation. The successful candidate will work closely with regional market experts to develop forecasting capabilities across gas demand, production and trade. Over time, the role will evolve towards greater forecast ownership, market analysis and client-facing research responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and enhance short and medium term gas/LNG market forecasting models across Asian markets, covering gas demand, supply, trade and market balances.
- Build sector-level demand forecasting capabilities across power, industrial, residential and commercial sectors.
- Incorporate weather, commodity prices, macroeconomic indicators and other market drivers into forecasting frameworks.
- Improve the automation, scalability and efficiency of modelling workflows to support more frequent and granular market updates.
- Work with large datasets and databases to strengthen forecasting capabilities and improve analytical processes.
- Support the development of next-generation gas and LNG analytics products, methodologies and tools.
- Collaborate closely with regional analysts to validate forecasts, interpret model outputs and ensure market relevance.
- Conduct market research and analysis to support model development and forecast enhancements.
- Leverage advanced analytical techniques, AI-enabled workflows and emerging technologies to improve research capabilities.
- Contribute to forecast publications, market commentary, presentations and research deliverables.
- Over time, develop ownership of key forecasts and build subject matter expertise in Asian gas and LNG markets.
- Support client engagement through presentations, webinars and discussions with industry stakeholders.
