Job description

Job Posting: Electrical Technician (Automation & Control)

The Role at a Glance

As an Electrical Technician, you will bridge the gap between complex automation engineering and practical field execution. You will build, install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical control systems while serving as a key point of contact for our engineering team and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembly & Installation: Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs to assemble, wire, and install automation control panels and field devices.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Assist engineers in the testing, loop checking, and commissioning of PLC, HMI, and SCADA-driven systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and repair electrical faults, component failures, and control loop issues in the field and in-house.
  • Technical Communication: Act as a liaison between the engineering team and on-site clients. Explain technical issues, progress, and solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation, including redlining schematics, writing service reports, and logging maintenance activities.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to relevant electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC) and company safety protocols.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

Education:

  • Degree Required: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation & Control, Instrumentation, or a closely related technical field.

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience working with industrial control panels, motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, and low-voltage systems.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Familiarity with PLC hardware (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider) and instrumentation loops (4-20mA, 0-10V).
  • Proficiency using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical test equipment.

Soft Skills & Communication:

  • Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. You can write clear technical reports and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A team player who works seamlessly with project managers, software engineers, and clients.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Sharp critical thinking skills to diagnose tricky automation anomalies efficiently.
