Data Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Design and operate data pipelines for ifap DataServices
• Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines in Python with FastAPI services and Apache Spark/Scala workloads
• Collaborate with Product Management, AI Engineers, and Architects to design data products
• Utilize AI tools like Claude Code and AI-Agents to accelerate development
• Implement automated tests, CI/CD, and stringent schema management for data pipelines

What You'll Need

• Several years of senior experience in Data Engineering with Python and a proven track record operating production data pipelines
• Completed degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable technical field
• Strong SQL skills and experience with modern data stacks (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Spark/PySpark, Kafka) and cloud data platforms (ideally AWS)
• Demonstrated effective use of AI in software and data engineering, ideally with Claude Code or similar agentic tools
• Fluent German and English, strong problem-solving skills, innovation, proactivity, and an entrepreneurial mindset
