Application Engineer (f/m/d)

Hug Engineering is one of the world‘s leading manufacturers of exhaust aftertreatment systems for high horsepower engines in the mobile and stationary market. Our applications range from yachts with an engine power of 200 kW to large power plants with 20 MW per engine. Moreover, we develop innovative systems that are specifically tailored to the use of alternative fuels such as methanol, hydrogen and ammonia.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering activities with strong focus on project management: Define technical scope, manage project objectives and budget, align internal teams, customers and suppliers
  • Take full technical ownership of the exhaust aftertreatment system (including steel components, catalysts, particulate filters, process equipment, and control logic)
  • Development of project-specific layouts of the aftertreatment system using CAD software
  • Create project-specific technical documentation such as technical specifications, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram, electrical schematics and network diagrams
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (UL, ASME, AWS, DIN, EN, ISO, …)

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed engineering degree in mechanical engineering or comparable
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in designing skid-mounted systems
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software and experience with PDM/PLM systems and structured BOM management are an advantage
  • Knowledge of exhaust gas aftertreatment and combustion engines is an advantage
  • High level of autonomy and reliability
  • Strong analytical thinking, teamwork and effective communication skills
  • Hands-on mentality combined with a structured and methodical approach to work
  • Willingness to travel to customers, suppliers and the headquarters in Switzerland approximately once per month
  • Fluent in English and Dutch is a strong advantage
