Salary: Up to $6,500/month

Employment Type: 1-Year Contract

Working Hours:

• Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:45 PM
• Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:15 PM

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial operations and grant administration within a research environment. This role is ideal for finance professionals with strong grants management experience and a background in research, universities, or the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance operations, including payments, invoicing, and fixed asset administration.
• Oversee grant funding to ensure compliance with funding requirements and availability of funds.
• Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with policies, audit, and tax requirements.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for finance processes.
• Manage research project financial data and ensure timely, accurate grant submissions.
• Prepare grant claims, financial reports, and management reports for senior stakeholders.
• Partner with research teams on budgeting, financial planning, and grant reporting.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors for grant certification and year-end audits.
• Mentor and guide team members while identifying training and development opportunities.

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance experience .
• Must have hands-on grants management experience (research grants preferred).
• Experience with SAP is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Prior experience in universities, research institutions, or government agencies is highly preferred.
• Professional qualification (e.g. ISCA or equivalent) is an added advantage.
