Internship - Data Automation Engineer

The student will be responsible to automate the generation of a KPI target planning system, and devise methods to drilldown to assist in root cause findings.

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

• Automation of Product Test Engineering: Perform Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) automation for Lot-on-Hold target planning. Extract data from various sources, including databases and datamarts, and automate data management workflows to ensure optimal system performance
• Drilldown Analysis & Root Cause Identification: Devise methods for deep-drilldown analysis to identify contributing factors, thereby assisting engineers in efficient root cause findings and yield improvement initiatives
• Query System Development: Develop a fast, intuitive query system (e.g., a chatbot interface) that taps into performance metrics and contributing factors, presenting data in a suitable aggregated form for quick decision-making
• Global Deployment Strategy: Design and deploy solutions to cover the diverse requirements of Backend sites in Asia, Europe, and America, as well as Subcontractor sites, ensuring seamless implementation from development through to the deployment stage
• Project Assistance on Firewall Project: Support the setup of online firewall solutions for Test Consistency Monitoring. This includes detecting deviations such as skipped tests, untested chips, or other anomalies to ensure test integrity
• Project Assistance on Die Level Screening (DLS) Project: Assist in setting up Die Level Screening methods tailored for use at Backend sites, ensuring accurate screening criteria are applied to improve final product quality

Internship Learning Outcomes

• Production Process Expertise: Gain comprehensive understanding of Backend Final Test Production procedures, covering the entire lifecycle from beginning, through active testing, to end-of-test phases, including subsequent data post-processing workflows
• Global Collaboration: Interact with colleagues globally to discuss project details, leveraging the function’s global nature to ensure alignment and best practices across all regions
• IT Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with relevant IT colleagues to integrate data solutions with existing infrastructure and ensure technical robustness
• Technical Skill Development: Engage in hands-on application of various programming languages (Python, SQL), software tools (Tableau, Alation, KNIME/Denodo), and advanced database concepts to drive data automation and analysis.

Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

• Educational Background & Discipline: Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computing Engineering/Science, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering. No prior work experience is required.
• Programming Proficiency: Knowledge of Python and SQL is advantageous. Familiarity with the visualization tool Tableau is a plus, but candidates can learn on the job
• Learning Agility: Highly motivated to learn and quickly pick up new knowledge, technologies, and methodologies in a fast-paced environment
• Global Communication: Possesses strong communication skills to effectively interact and collaborate with colleagues across global locations.
