Job Summary
Orient Castle Contracting Company is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer with 8–10 years of proven experience in construction, Fit out and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading project planning and scheduling activities, monitoring project performance, identifying risks and delays, preparing recovery plans, and ensuring the timely delivery of projects in accordance with contractual obligations and company objectives. The role requires strong expertise in project controls, delay analysis, and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and other planning tools.
2. Monitor project progress and compare actual performance against the approved baseline schedule.
3. Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement teams, and subcontractors to ensure timely execution of project activities.
4. Coordinate with the Cost Control Department to monitor and control project costs, prepare cash flow forecasts, and ensure alignment with the approved project budget.
5. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and management dashboards.
6. Track critical activities and identify potential delays that may impact project milestones and completion dates.
7. Analyze resource utilization, productivity rates, and project performance indicators.
8. Prepare recovery schedules and mitigation plans to address project delays and maintain contractual commitments.
9. Support project managers in planning construction activities, sequencing works, and optimizing resource allocation.
10. Conduct critical path analysis and provide recommendations to improve project performance.
11. Assist in the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims, delay analyses, and supporting documentation when required.
12. Maintain accurate project records and planning documentation.
13. Participate in project meetings and provide planning updates and recommendations to management.
14. Ensure compliance with company procedures, project specifications, and contractual requirements.
Required Skills & Expertise :
1. Strong proficiency in:
· Primavera P6
· Microsoft Project
· Project Planning and Scheduling Techniques
2. Solid understanding of construction and infrastructure projects.
3. Knowledge of project controls, progress monitoring, and reporting.
4. Experience in resource planning and productivity analysis.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project documentation.
7. Familiarity with delay analysis, risk management, and Critical Path Method (CPM).
8. Excellent communication and coordination skills.
9. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
Qualifications :
· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
· Minimum 8–10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within construction companies.
· Proven experience in infrastructure, fit-out, and civil/architectural construction projects, with a strong track record in project execution, coordination, and delivery.
· Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and project control methodologies.
· Strong experience in delay analysis, Extension of Time (EOT) claims, recovery schedules, and contractual correspondence.
· Demonstrated ability to manage planning activities for multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong knowledge of Saudi construction practi
