Job description

Location: Nanyang Drive

Salary: Up to $6,500

Contract: 1 year (convertible based on performance/business needs)

Working hours: Mon-Thurs: 08:30AM - 5:45PM, Friday: 08:30AM - 5:15PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including payments, invoicing, and fixed asset administration.
  • Monitor funds managed by the Centre to ensure sufficient funding availability and compliance with grant requirements.
  • Ensure financial procedures are aligned with university policies and support year-end audit and tax filing processes.
  • Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Manage research project financial data and systems to ensure timely and accurate grant submissions in accordance with policies, grant terms and conditions, and harmonised guidelines.
  • Prepare periodic grant expense claims, financial reports, and management reports for Senior Management.
  • Work closely with research teams on budgeting, financial planning, and reporting matters.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on grant certification audits and year-end audits.
  • Mentor, guide, and motivate team members to support their professional development.
  • Identify staff training needs and recommend development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Professional qualifications such as ISCA or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
  • Meticulous with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Prior experience working in universities, research institutions, or government agencies will be an added advantage.
