Research Associate / Research Engineer II (Computer Science / Operations Research / Aviation / Applied Mathematics)

ATMRI at NTU invites applications for a Research Assistant to support research on airport and airspace capacity assessment and air traffic demand forecasting in the Asia-Pacific region. The role involves aviation data analysis, model development, technical reporting, and research dissemination.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, process, and analyse aviation operational data from ICAO, ASEAN, airports, ANSPs, and other relevant sources to support airport and airspace capacity assessment.
• Support the development and validation of airport capacity, airspace capacity, and air traffic demand forecasting models for the Asia-Pacific region.
• Conduct literature reviews, statistical analyses, and scenario studies to evaluate future airport and ATM/airspace capacity requirements over a 15-year planning horizon.
• Prepare technical reports, research publications, presentations, and other project deliverables under the ICAO and ASEAN ATM studies programme.
• Collaborate with researchers, stakeholders, and project partners to support technical discussions, and dissemination of research outcomes.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Aviation, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong foundations in data analysis, statistics, mathematical modelling, and programming.
• Knowledge of aviation, transportation systems, air traffic management, or demand forecasting is advantageous.
• Good writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports and research documentation.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team with local and international research partners.
