About the Role

We are looking for motivated ITE and Polytechnic graduates to join our Crane Maintenance team. As a Junior Crane Maintenance Technician, you will receive structured on-the-job training while supporting the maintenance, servicing, and repair of cranes and heavy equipment. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build hands-on technical skills in both electrical and mechanical systems within an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance

  • Assist in maintaining crane electrical systems, including wiring, controls, automation, and power supply.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in control panels, sensors, and automation circuits.
  • Conduct preventive inspections of electrical components to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Mechanical Maintenance

  • Assist in maintaining mechanical systems such as gears, hydraulics, brakes, and structural components.
  • Perform preventive servicing and mechanical upkeep to extend equipment lifespan.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to ensure cranes remain operational.
  • Support equipment upgrades and modifications to improve mechanical reliability.

Servicing & Maintenance

  • Conduct routine servicing, inspections, and preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Perform scheduled repairs and corrective maintenance to ensure cranes remain safe and operational.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out corrective actions to restore crane functionality.

Support Functions

  • Assist in spare parts management and inventory control.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with facility teams and vendors for spare parts, inspections, and equipment upgrades.
  • Support operational teams by ensuring cranes are available and safe for daily operations.
  • Provide technical support for the electrification and conversion of equipment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining electric motorised heavy equipment.
  • Undertake overseas travel, where required, to support project implementation and service delivery.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Basic technical knowledge of electrical systems and mechanical engineering.
  • Hands-on experience through internship, projects, or industrial attachments in equipment maintenance is an advantage.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment and follow safety and compliance procedures.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with operations and facility teams.
  • Demonstrates a strong safety mindset and consistently upholds safe working behaviours.

Qualifications

  • Higher Nitec, Nitec, Diploma, or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Prior experience in crane or heavy equipment maintenance will be an advantage but is not required.
  • Safety certifications (e.g. Lifting Equipment Safety, Work at Height, National EV Specialist Safety) will be an advantage.

Working Hours

  • Work Schedule: 5.5-day work week (Monday–Saturday)
  • On-Call Duty: Required to respond to urgent breakdowns or operational issues.
  • Overtime (OT): OT pay applicable for work beyond standard working hours.
  • For supervisory, executive, and engineering roles, off-in-lieu arrangements may apply in place of overtime pay, subject to company approval.

Pay: $2,400.00 - $2,800.00 per month
